Down at the legion on Friday night Draft is cheap and parking tight So pour up a double, one in each glass With a bowl of peanuts for that touch of class Four Chord plays guitar and Willie plays the harp Gord's a little bit flat and Willy's a little sharp But over the year's they've reduced men to tears With songs about love, pick up trucks and beers So ladies and gentlemen, with us today From town to town, they've made their way Not quite as famous as Milli Vanille Welcome Four Chord Gord and Three Finger Willy Just four chords is all they need No blazing solo's at break neck speeds Singing songs we all understand Doing it all in a two piece band Four Chord plays guitar and Willie plays the harp Gord's a little bit flat and Willy's a little sharp But over the year's they've reduced men to tears With songs about love, pick up trucks and beers Cause ladies and gentlemen with us today From town to town they've made their way Not quite as famous as Milli Vanille Please welcome Four Chord Gord and Three Finger Willy From Country and Western right straight thru to the blues There ain’t no stoppin' the souls of your dancing shoes So ladies and gentlemen with us today From town to town they've made their way Not quite as famous as Milli Vanille Please welcome Four Chord Gord and Three Finger Willy © Matt Storch – 1998

There were times in my life when I wore those restless shoes Times in my life I didn't have that much to lose. Times I've be out wandering running from the blues. In a fool's paradise searching for clues. But don't worry baby Don't worry baby Don't worry baby I'll be home soon I'm just a crazy dreamer Out chasing the wild moon There are times I've been out ramblin’, times I had to roam Times I've been out gamblin’ when I should have stayed at home. Speeding down the highway in a blazing heap of chrome Riding with the wind into the great unknown But don't worry baby Don't worry baby Don't worry baby I'll be home soon I'm just a crazy dreamer Out chasing the wild moon But don't worry baby Don't worry baby Don't worry baby I'll be home soon I'm just a crazy dreamer Out chasing the wild moon The wild moon is calling but can't stay out all night I'll be back on your doorstep before the morning's light But don't worry baby Don't worry baby Don't worry baby I'll be home soon I'm just a crazy dreamer Out chasing the wild moon...... © Matt Storch – 2019

Gravel Run 03:09
I learned how to drive on my old man's knee He'd work the pedals and I'd take the wheel Windows down I never felt so free It was a short box Chevy, three on the tree Now I'm grown and out on my own Those old dirt roads keep calling me home The dust and the smell of those long tall pines Takes me way back to a place in time Life in the city is coming undone I'm heading to the country for a Gravel Run I just want to be where the blacktop ends The stars shine bright and the river bends Me and my dog riding shotgun Firing up the dust on a Gravel Run I know these roads like the back of my hand Got a great education from my old man Now there's a brand new branch on the family tree A few more years and he'll be on my knee Next generation of father and son Rolling through the fields on a Gravel Run I just want to be where the blacktop ends The stars shine bright and the river bends Me and my dog riding shotgun Firing up the dust on a Gravel Run I ain't seen nothing in a country mile I'm gonna drive, drive, drive Radio blasting out the FM dial I'm gonna drive, drive, drive Arm out the window soaking up the sun It's a beautiful day for a Gravel Run Grab your place out in the sun and meet me in the country Were going for a Gravel Run

I've got your picture in a frame upon on my wall I speak to you every time I walk down the hall I think about the things I didn't get to say The road has been rocky but I have found my way I know your always there to catch me when I fall When I'm down you make me feel like I'm 10ft tall The lessons that you taught me, get me through the day Sometimes your like a shadow showing me the way I made a wish upon a star I made a wish that I could be right where you are Underneath this yellow moon we seem so far apart I made a wish upon a star Looking back on all the time we spent together Thinking that those days may just last forever Never once considering that the road might end And taking for granted the gift of a true friend I made a wish upon a star I made a wish that I could he right where you are Underneath this yellow moon we seem so far apart I made a wish upon a star In my dreams we share the night I follow you straight in to the light Always keeping you in sight Hoping for the chance to reunite I made a wish upon a star I made a wish that I could he right where you are Underneath this yellow moon we seem so far apart I made a wish upon a star © Matt Storch – 2020

about

This album is a glimpse into the nearly 20 songs that were written primarily between Matt Storch (lyrics) & Jim Young (music & melody). The addition of The Miles Between band made this possible to record during the Covid pandemic. All tracks were recorded at home by each individual artist and assembled in Kitchener, Ontario by Mark Agnew. It is called Vol. 1 because there are a number of other songs in the works!
