Lucky Star 04:35
Laying back on a sandy beach The cares of the world just out of reach Time stood still for a moment there The song of the wind in the evening air And another West Coast sunset Is now a million lucky stars Shine on It's a cool spring night in early June The sky a glow from a Crescent moon You and I underneath a dim lit sky Sharing dreams with passing a firefly And another West Coast sunset Is now a million lucky stars Shine on A million stars dancing in the dark It just takes one to catch a spark You and I could go so far With a falling sun and a lucky star Shine on Who knew that life could be so fine With our backs up against this ancient pine The sun shone bright throughout the day As night crept in, well it slipped away And another West Coast sunset Is now a million lucky stars Shine on A million stars dancing in the dark It just takes one to catch a spark You and I could go so far With a falling sun and a lucky star Shine on A million stars dancing in the dark It just takes one to catch a spark You and I could go so far With a falling sun and a lucky star Shine on Matt Storch 2022

Kings Hwy 03:31
My name is Jack Pine, I’ve been riding this line More years than I care to remember. I’ve got Indian blood in my veins as thick as mud Thick as mud at the mouth of the Serpent River Now I’m hauling log through a heavy fog All the way from the Soo to Thunder Bay Me and the night into the mornings light All these years grinding gears on the Kings Hwy Hwy # 17 cuts right through the land of dreams Lanes of blacktop where the diesels wine Hwy # 17 connects the north through hills and streams Headlights dancing on the thin white line And I’m driving, driving, driving, following that line Then I sealed the deal with a load a steel And hit the road so I could earn my pay Steady and surreal, On top of 18 wheels All these years grinding gears on the kings Hwy Hwy # 17 cuts right through the land of dreams Lanes of blacktop where the diesels wine Hwy # 17 connects the north through hills and streams Headlights dancing on the thin white line And I’m driving, driving, driving, following that line I call the road my home, my spirit born to roam These wheels underneath me set me free Come rain or come shine, I'll make it there on tiime A lonesome drifter, a travelling cherokee And I’m driving, driving, driving, following that line And I’m driving, driving, driving, following that line © Matt Storch – 2020

18 Wheels 04:58
She was rough around the edges, you could not refine her She had a trucker’s mouth from slinging coffee at the diner It wasn’t gonna be like this, life should have been finer But she made the most of things, it did not define her She said, 18 wheels gonna carry me away As she dreamed of a better day Rolling on day by day Out on the lost highway He was tired of driving, pulled over for a break She served him a coffee and a truck stop steak. He’d been riding many miles underneath the northern skies He though he’d found forever when he looked into her eyes He said, 18 wheels gonna carry me away But they’ll bring me back someday Rolling on day by day Out on the lost highway She loved the time they spent as the neon flickered blue She loved his crazy stories and his homemade tattoo's too Her heart skipped a beat each time she heard the door He may have been the one that she’d been waiting for He was well into the darkness when the road began to wind His two hands on the wheel and the waitress on his mind She left him with a picture, he could not take it down So he cranked up the radio and turned that rig around He walked back through the door, his smile lit up the place It was just like she remembered and a tear rolled down her face They laughed and talked all night until the moon fell from the sky They made themselves a promise to never say goodbye 18 wheels carried them away Hand in hand is what they say Rolling on day by day Out on the lost highway © Matt Storch – 2021

Save Me Seat 03:28
Looking back on the day that we met The stars aligned how can I forget A simple case of love at first sight With your red hair flirtin', jeans on tight A chance meeting's where it started from Two hearts beating like a big bass drum Now here we are birds of a feather Hand in hand no matter the weather Out in the street A table for two Save me a seat I'll be there for you Out in the heat Under skies of blue A mid day treat A sweet rendezvous The hands of time spin slowly around And here we are on solid ground There ain't no mountains we can't climb While I am yours and you are mine Out in the street A table for two Save me a seat I'll be there for you Out in the heat Under skies of blue A mid day treat A sweet rendezvous We have lived a wonderful life Beautiful dreamers, husband and wife When we reach the end of the long long road We'll do it again in the great unknown When that day comes For me or for you Save me a seat I'll save one for you too Again we meet In the sky so blue Our lives complete A sweet rendezvous Matt Storch 2021

Well I've played this guitar since I was 15 years old From acoustic Dylan to Rock N Roll Now here I am out on the road Where souls get sold and lies get told Lies get told Tomorrow I'll drive into some little town One more stop on this marry-go-round Same old stage and the same bright lights Same dark faces most every night Ya that's life out on the run Rarely alive to see the sun Up all night just trying to be someone Trying to be someone Trying to be someone Well I walk on the edge from time to time If the world was flat you'd have to throw me a line If you see my lady tell her Im doing fine Except the light in my eyes from this motel sign This motel sign Ya that's life out on the run Rarely alive to see the sun Up all night just trying to be someone Trying to be someone Trying to be someone In the heart of the city, where the roofs touch the sky I sit and look back at the time gone by But just like a river that keeps on flowing The road ahead just keeps on going Ya that's life out on the run Rarely alive to see the sun Up all night just trying to be someone Trying to be someone Trying to be someone Ya that's life out on the run Rarely alive to see the sun Up all night just trying to be someone Trying to be someone Trying to be someone

Me and the bottle, we had us a truce But tonight the devil won't cut me loose I went out for one and it turned into ten And I'm falling off the wagon again One more whiskey, just another beer The night is still young, my friends are all here Soon I'll be looking for all the king's men Cause I'm falling off the wagon again You can dress me up, take me out on the town I'll be there when your up, I'll be there when your down But if you break out a bottle and you pass it around You might find me in a cell downtown I've got a weakness for a taste of gin The mention of her name and I just cave-in We carry on like Barbie & Ken Until I fall off the wagon again You can dress me up, take me out on the town I'll be there when your up, I'll be there when your down But if you break out a bottle and you pass it around You might find me in a cell downtown Just dropped in to my favourite pub To wet my whistle and have me some grub Woke up hungry in the lion's den I guess I fell off the wagon again We went out early, I came home late We made some plans for a second date I just can't remember where and when I must have fallen off the wagon again You can dress me up, take me out on the town I'll be there when your up, I'll be there when your down But if you break out a bottle and you pass it around You might find me in a cell downtown If you break out the bottle and pass it around You might find me in a cell downtown If you break out the bottle and you pass it around You might find me in a cell downtown Lock him up.... about

Matt Storch has gone into his musical kitchen and cooked up a stew that incorporates country, soul, and a seventies groove that will satisfy many an appetite. Storch has taken it back to what country music once was - songs and stories of life. He has opened up a vein and let it flow into songs of love, loss, loneliness and redemption. The album doesn’t suffer from the usual overproduction that usually assaults the airwaves. These are clean, simple, heartfelt songs with a soul.

There’s a sorrowful tone in his voice that draws you into the story as he connects you with his hometown on Kings Highway. Each song could be an anthem for the everyman. The themes are universal and honest. Lucky Star breaks the mould and introduces us to a soulful tune that would make Boz Scaggs pay attention. It delivers a sexy groove that harkens back to the seventies.

This is an album you’ll put on again just to catch what you may have missed.
