lyrics

Neon lights are bright tonight,
He's got whiskey on his breath.
He did his time out on the front line,
He came back a mess.
He fought for freedom, he fought for peace
Now time cannot erase
The things he's seen, the places he's been,
The lines upon his face.

It's 3:00M, up again,
They race out of the hall.
Hearts are thumping, blood is pumping,
Together so none may fall.
Standing strong they fend the flames
That rise in to the dark black night.
There will be no loss of life tonight
Just pride among those in this firefight.

To all those among us, who stand brave and tall.
Who fight for what's right and catch us when we fall.
We may not understand the price that you must pay
But we do thank you all,
More than words can say!

In the heart of the city, under cover of the night
From the darkness shines a light
A thin blue line, ever so bright.
Our lives together would ignite
Without the badge and the gun
We need the brave to lead the way,
The war has not been won.

There are lives in the balance
Will they live to tell the tale.
Just a few short breathes between life and death
The clock is ticking as the sirens wail.
They treat with dignity all they face,
Blind to age, sex and race.
In a world full of strife
They fight to save every life.

To all those among us, who stand brave and tall.
Who fight for what's right and catch us when we fall.
We may not understand the price that you must pay
But we do thank you all,
More than words can say!

To all the First Responders
This one's for you.
To all the men and woman
And all their families too.
For all those sleepless nights
And all that you go through
A salute to your service
For everything you do
